Sungate Place is nestled in the North Valley between Merlin and Hugo, just 15 minutes north of Grants Pass. This charming venue is a great option for weddings with up to 180 guests.
Their newly built barn is the definition of rustic elegance. It has lots of natural light, paved floors, reclaimed wood, exposed metal industrial ducting and vaulted ceilings, beautiful wood beams and chandeliers. These details make this large indoor space so versatile for many different types of events.
Doc, this beautiful white horse, can be a part of your wedding day! He makes a lovely addition for photos and is being trained to pull you in their vintage Surrey!
The pinnacle feature of this amazing venue is their large Barn! This is something we desperately needed in Southern Oregon. As one of the only large indoor venues in our area, this space is perfect for events of all kinds in ANY type of weather.
The Story Behind Sungate Place
Ken and Joanna have put their heart and soul into making this property amazing! They have been hosting weddings and events for many years on their property and they had always dreamed of building an indoor structure, but it was always "someday". However, when Ken suddenly became ill and was hospitalized for several months, he felt that God was calling him to build.
The time was now, no more waiting for some futuristic date.
Life is precious and short and they were being called to have an impact in the Rogue Valley. They saw a need. A place to gather. Big enough so that it could be used in many different ways in ALL seasons.
So in his hospital room, Ken began sketching the plans for the barn that is now- A Place to Gather.
In talking with Joanna and Ken, I found out that Ken actually used wood from trees that used to grow on this property inside the barn and for the tables he hand made with love. He is quite a craftsman. Their hearts are for people, family, connection and you will be blessed by them during the hosting of your wedding or event.
